    Alfama and the seven hills

    A ride on tram 28 over the city's hills, stopping at three viewpoints over the Tagus. An evening at a fado house.

    Belém

    Belém

    Monuments to the Age of Discovery: the Jerónimos Monastery and the Belém Tower. On the same square, a pastel de nata straight from the oven.

    Sintra's fairy-tale hills

    Sintra

    The brightly coloured Pena Palace above the misty hills, then the hidden tunnels and wells of Quinta da Regaleira.

    Down to the Arrábida coast

    South to Setúbal's turquoise coves. A road dropping from the hills of Arrábida Natural Park to the sea, evening in a quiet cove.

    Évora and departure

    A short detour inland: Évora's Roman temple and whitewashed streets. Back to Lisbon in the afternoon, transfer to the airport.
